What It Is
RiverAI is a free personal AI health companion. Each user names their River, creating a persistent companion with memory that grows across sessions. River maintains a three-layer memory system: a JSON brain file that loads instantly, compressed session summaries for the past 30 days, and a full conversation archive — each layer linked so River can follow the chain in seconds without hunting. River remembers the journey, not just the facts.
The ambient UI shifts imperceptibly to counter the user's detected emotional state — a 45-second sub-threshold color transition that affects mood without announcing itself. An isolation nudge engine tracks engagement frequency and reaches out gently when a user goes quiet. With user consent, anonymous behavioral signals (frequency, trajectory, rhythm — never content, never names) contribute to a population-level mental health dataset that no research institution currently has in this form. All personal memory stays with the user.

Inference: BYOK Anthropic Claude API (default). Sovereign fallback in development: a RiverAI-shaped domain is currently in deep-mind training inside the Aurum Sphere swarm. When training completes, River will work with or without a cloud API key.
